Le Grand Ours

Chalet Grand Ours is a rare gem in La Tzoumaz, offering ski-in/ski-out access and just a short walk from the resort center. This luxurious five-bedroom, four-bathroom chalet comfortably accommodates up to 13 guests, making it the perfect retreat for families or groups of friends. Stylishly decorated with warm alpine charm, it features an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area with breathtaking views and a cozy wood-burning fireplace. Several terraces and balconies provide ample seating to soak in the mountain scenery without ever leaving the comfort of the chalet. Thanks to its elevated position, both the chalet and its outdoor jacuzzi boast spectacular panoramic views stretching up to 20 km across the valley and surrounding peaks. Large windows in the main living space are designed to showcase this stunning landscape year-round.

Sustainability is a priority at Chalet Grand Ours, with heating, hot water, and the jacuzzi powered by an underground renewable energy source. Guests with electric vehicles can also take advantage of the private parking spaces with complimentary charging. The chalet’s layout is thoughtfully designed to provide both comfort and convenience. On the lower level, there are two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom—one with a shower, sink, and WC, and the other with a bathtub, sink, and WC. The main floor features an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, as well as a guest WC. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom that includes a bath with an overhead shower, sink, and WC. There is also a room with three bunk beds, a TV/DVD, and a sofa, as well as a spacious bedroom that sleeps four with twin beds and a bunk bed. A shared family bathroom on this level is fitted with a shower, bath, sink, and WC.

For families with young children, a high chair and a travel cot (without bedding) are provided, with a second cot available upon request. In accordance with the manufacturer’s safety guidelines, additional mattresses are not included. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for group catering, featuring an oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, and fridge-freezer. Traditional Swiss fondue and raclette sets are also available for a classic alpine dining experience. Additional amenities include a washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, iron, and a portable outdoor barbecue.

A variety of toys and games cater to all ages, from wooden blocks and Playmobil sets to board games and story cubes. Underfloor heating keeps the space warm and inviting, but for extra ambiance, the fireplace can be lit, casting a cozy glow over the lounge area with its comfortable sofas and cable TV. After an exhilarating day on the slopes, guests can unwind in the outdoor jacuzzi while taking in the twinkling lights of distant villages. A game of table tennis on the upper deck is another great way to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

For those looking to explore La Tzoumaz, the resort’s bars and restaurants are easily accessible via the shuttle cabin and a short 5–10 minute walk. If you’re in the mood for adventure beyond skiing, challenge yourself to the famous 10 km La Tzoumaz luge run. Your lift pass grants access to the top of the Savoleyres telecabin, where you can rent a sturdy sledge and race down the exhilarating descent right back to the chalet.
