Chalet Z’Gogwaergji

Chalet Z’Gogwärgji, the original dwarf chalet nestled in the heart of Zermatt’s historic old village, where houses date back to the 18th century. Transformed from a former sheep barn while preserving its authentic charm, our chalet offers a truly unique Walliser experience, perfect for accommodating up to 4 people. Unlike typical apartments in chalets, our guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire three-story chalet.

The weathered facade, reminiscent of the 18th century, has been lovingly retained, and the interior exudes a cozy sense of the past, featuring locally sourced Larchwood and Piemont granite, combined with luxurious comforts.

Located in the enchanting “Hinterdorf” area, near the river and close to all amenities and mountain departure stations, Chalet Z’Gogwärgji offers an ideal base for your adventures.

Inside, the top floor boasts an open lounge and dining area, exuding luxurious chalet-style ambiance. Here, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV, and free WIFI internet connection. Both double bedrooms, situated on the lower floor and ground floor respectively, offer ensuite facilities with showers and separate toilets.

A charming wooden staircase connects the different floors, leading down to the lower ground floor, where you can indulge in relaxation after a day in the mountains with our inviting sauna. Additionally, the chalet houses a laundry room equipped with a washing machine and dryer for your convenience.

As our cherished guests, you are also invited to make use of the wellness facilities available at our partner hotel, which include a swimming pool, bio- and Finnish saunas, a magical shower, samarium, and a gym (available during the high season).
